A prescription eye drop for adults with acquired low-lying upper eyelids, also known as acquired ptosis. When used as directed, it temporarily lifts the upper eyelid to create a more open, alert appearance. A provider evaluation is required to confirm the condition, review medical history and determine whether this treatment is appropriate.

UPNEEQ® (oxymetazoline hydrochloride ophthalmic solution), 0.1%, is a prescription eye drop indicated for acquired blepharoptosis in adults. It works on a muscle within the upper eyelid to temporarily lift a low-lying lid, helping the eye appear more open.

Directions for use

Instill one drop in each affected eye once daily exactly as prescribed. Remove contact lenses first and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them. Separate UPNEEQ from other topical ophthalmic medications by at least 15 minutes, and do not touch the container tip to the eye or another surface.

A thoughtful routine approach

New or sudden eyelid drooping can occasionally signal a more serious neurologic or eye condition, so diagnosis matters. Review cardiovascular history, eye dryness, glaucoma-related medications and all other warnings with the prescriber.
